Fitria Yusef is a socialite, fashion stylist, business owner and
the writer of "Little Pink Book: Jakarta Style & Shopping Guide"

What is your earliest corset memory?
I first was mesmerized with the curve of a women's body when it is cinched by a corset. I love history and period costume is one of the reasons. I dwell on stories of the belle epoque and Edwardian era. I always imagine myself wearing that kind of clothing that accentuates the woman's curve.

Describe the first corset you ever wore.
My first corset was made at your place actually, well, formerly I used a bustier, but my first custom made corset was made by Dark Garden :) it was patent leather and underbust. I love it , it's a work of art.

What is your favorite style of corset?
I like the overbust corset in sweetheart neckline.

What do you like about wearing corsets?
Corsets enhance my sensuality, perfect my posture and boost my confidence.

What is the greatest style influence in your life?
My style is influenced by periods of time, movies, and music. For example, I want to dress like the movie "The Night Porter" or "Dr Zhivago" or "When God Created Woman" and such.

Bridget Bardot in "When God Created Woman"

Charlotte Rampling in "The Night Porter"

The customer highlight is a new feature on the Dark Garden blog where we discover and share more about the style influences of our customers and why they love to wear corsets.

  1. I love that picture of Bridgette Bardot letting loose on the desk! In all the years of my watching classic films I never saw one with her in it. Now I think I'm going to have to see this one!

The pictures of Fitria are gorgeous!
